Directed by F. Gary Gray, “Lift” proves to be a forgettable and formulaic action film with a heist plot and a star-studded cast led by Kevin Hart. Despite attempts to inject variety with aerial shots of European destinations, the movie falls into the trap of generic action, relying on zippy editing tricks and repetitive airplane fistfights. The convoluted plot, involving Interpol, a terrorist group, and Jean Reno, contributes to the overall hollowness of the film. Kevin Hart’s charismatic performance as Cyrus, the leader of a high-tech criminal team, fails to add depth to the characters, hindering emotional investment in their success. While “Lift” may serve as mindless entertainment during a flight, it lacks the substance to leave a lasting impression in the crowded action genre. Visit flixtor for more!
